2nd Annual Kidney Bowl in support of the Kidney Foundation
Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club in Kitchener is running a large fundraising event for the Kidney Foundation of Canada-Waterloo Wellington & District Chapter.
On Saturday, August 10th, we will have a fun day of competitive lawn bowling while supporting the vital work of The Kidney Foundation of Canada. The tournament will offer three 14-end games of two bowl triples. An AGCO-licensed bar will be open for everyone’s enjoyment. $30 from each entry will be donated to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, and donations will be accepted throughout the day.
Last year, we saw 28 teams and 115 bowlers and volunteers out to support the day. We raised over $5,000 for The Kidney Foundation of Canada. We did so by donating proceeds from registration, offering a prize raffle, and individual donations made by attendees on the event day.
This event will support the 1 in 10 Canadians who have kidney disease, which is on the rise. Although there is no cure for kidney disease, the Kidney Foundation of Canada works hard to achieve excellent kidney health, optimal quality of life, and a cure for kidney disease.
