A serious motor vehicle collision forced the closure of the westbound lanes of Highway 16 at Innisfree, Alta., Thursday evening, around 50 km west of Vermilion.
Traffic was detoured north on Range Road 111 to Innisfree Road, then west along Range Road 114 and then back to Highway 16.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area on Thursday night.
In an update just before 10:30 p.m., RCMP said the highway had reopened.
No details about the crash have been released.
